Community Vision is a grassroots non-profit organization that works to bring people and resources together to achieve the community's vision. When the organization was created in 1995, its very first mission was to gather residents, assess their priorities and vision, and move forward with action plans to achieve that vision. Now, almost 11 years later, we have set out to reassess the vision. How do we do this? By engaging as many residents as we possibly can. We will be conducting visioning surveys using wireless touchpad technology throughout the county. You will see billboards, advertisements in the newspaper, and programming on Access Osceola describing ways you can get involved. Findings from this extensive outreach effort will help shape the community's future. You are a key ingredient to the success of Osceola Vision '06 because we need all the input we can get. You also may be aware of a regional effort called MyRegion. Their work will complement our Osceola-specific vision. Many issues can be addressed regionally while others will need local attention. Feel free to contribute your opinions and ideas to both efforts.
Our community has undergone massive growth since "Community Vision 1995" and with it has come changes, challenges and opportunities. By soliciting input through a variety of outreach vehicles designed to engage residents representing every background and walk of life we hope to put the building blocks in place to achieve a preferred future. Sometime in early 2007, Community Vision, on behalf of thousands of participants, will present the results to the community as a first step in establishing key goals, strategies and action plans.
